Friday – Sunday, September 19 – 21, 2008
LEAP is an acronym for Leader Enrichment Activity Program. Each fall, since 1987, the Leader Enrichment Activity Program has taken place at one of the council camps. It is a weekend of learning and fun for Girl Scout adults. This year's weekend will take place at Camp Juniper Knoll in East Troy, WI.
We have plans for Canoeing, Sailing, Geocaching, outdoor cooking, crafts, nature, hikes, a bench building service project, two off-site trips including Kettle Moraine State Park and horseback riding at he Fantasy Hills Ranch. We will also feature 5 workshops about the six new grade level programs called Journeys (Senior and Ambassador level will be one longer workshop, since many of our troops will still be meeting together). You will find that some of the workshops are just for you and other are great ideas to take back to your girls. How much or how little you do is up to you.
Participants have the option to spend the weekend or just attend workshops on Saturday. Sleeping accommodations include platform tents outdoors, yurts or cabins indoors. A late night gathering spot is available for those who want to catch up with friends until the wee hours of the morning.
Meals are served cafeteria style in the dining hall with the exception of Saturday lunch. You have a choice to attend an indoor or outdoor cooking class or make your own bag lunch before departing for your off-site field trip or in-camp activity.
Cost for the weekend is $49. Cost for Saturday only is $34. Bring a friend who has never attended LEAP with you and receive a $5 discount!
Check the workshop schedule for a full list of activities and the registration form.
