Must I register for Girl Scout training events?

Yes, pre-registration is required for all Girl Scout training. Sessions fill quickly. Early registration is encouraged. Note: We reserve the right to cancel courses if there is no or low enrollment as of the registration deadline date.

Who do I call with training questions?

For questions about registering or content for a course, call the Events Registrar, at extension 225.

How can I register for a class I wish to take?

You can contact Girl Scouts of Chicago Training Registration in any of these four ways:

  • Mail us the registration form included in The Training Schedule. If payment is required, you may pay by check or credit card. Your name cannot be put "on the list" until we receive payment. Courses that require payment include all First Aid courses, outdoor training and some enrichment courses.
  • If your course does not require payment you may call 312-416-2500, ext 211.
  • Fax the registration form to us at 312-416-2932. Be sure to include all information requested on the form including credit card information for payment if required.
  • E-mail your registration information to trainregistration@girlscouts-chicago.org. Be sure to include all details (full name, address, telephone numbers, troop number, name and date of course, etc.) We cannot take credit card payments via e-mail. Using e-mail registration does not guarantee placement in a course.

    How will I know if I am placed in a class?

    You will receive confirmation via mail about three or four days after the final registration deadline.

    How will I be notified if a course is cancelled?

    Courses may be canceled due to no/low registration or inclement weather. You will be notified by mail or phone if the course is canceled due to no/low registration. In the case of inclement weather, you will be notified by telephone. NOTE: Only those registered for a course can be notified if a course is canceled. That is why it is important to pre-register for all training courses.

    How will I get directions to my training?

    Your course confirmation will include directions and will alert you to any changes in the location, inclement weather plans as well as anything else your trainers wish you to know.

    What should I do if my plans change and I cannot attend once I am registered?

    You may cancel your registration by fax, phone, mail or e-mail. Refunds for classes requiring payment will be given only if you cancel two weeks or more before the class.

    May I bring children to the training event?

    We cannot accommodate children at training events.

    What if I arrive late to the training event?

    If you arrive more than 15 minutes after the class has started, you may not receive credit for the course, even if you choose to stay for the remaining class time.

    Please remember that your trainer is a Girl Scout volunteer, just like you!
