Unique Programs in the Spotlight!
Pink Tent Jamboree
October 25
Girl Scouts Cadettes and Seniors
Bring a friend and come join the Pink Tent jamboree at Camp Butternut Springs! This overnight only for older girls will feature loads of time to play, time to cook meals over a fire, and time to connect with friends, old and new. We will begin the weekend by pitching pink dome tents, then the fun will begin! Tents that sleep two will be provided; participants will need to supply sleeping bag/personal bedding. Girls who attend on their own will be paired with a new friend in a tent. Adult female volunteers will be sleeping in nearby tents. Troops are welcome to attend together, but please adhere to the 20 girls:2 adults ratio.

Cost: $30 per girl/adult with own transportation

Mom and Me Weekend
November 7-9
All Girl Scouts are Welcome!
Moms, grandmas, aunts, or female relative over 21 years of age are invited to give their special Girl Scout a memory for life! Bring her to camp for the weekend. Sing songs, play games, make projects, and spend some quality time together. Participants will share cleaning responsibilities.

Exploring Ape Behavior
October 25
Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes
Step into a researcher’s shoes at Regenstein Center for African Apes to observe the building’s amazing animals. Participants begin Exploring Ape Behavior with an overview of animal behavioral studies at the Lester E. Fisher Center for the Study and Conservation of Apes. Afterwards, everyone will embark on their own research project, using an iPod Touch to record the activities of one of the zoo’s gorillas or chimpanzees. Experience first-hand how zoo research helps to better understand the intelligence and complexity of these extraordinary animals.

Dove Real Beauty Workshop
November 13
Girl Scout Cadettes and Seniors
A Real Beauty workshop has been created with the goal of opening the lines of communication on beauty and body image. The 60-minute workshop content deals with
feelings about physical appearance and body image. It also examines how the images of models, actors, and other celebrities that are so admired are, in fact, fabricated or manipulated to portray a “perfection” against which girls often measure themselves. Location is subject to change.

Teen Topia Weekend
November 21-23
Girl Scout Seniors
This weekend is designed for you to meet and hang out with girls just like you. Connect with other Girl Scouts in our council while participating in teen focused workshops (such as building healthy relationships, media Influence on self-esteem, and managing stress). You will also have the opportunity to do other camping activities like hiking, playing games, and arts and crafts. This is the perfect time to make some new friends or spend time with the old!

Gold and Silver Award Trainings!
The Girl Scout Gold and Silver Awards are the highest honor girls can earn in Girl Scouting. These awards can be described as being “what a girl really wants to be remembered for in Girl Scouting.” The process begins with attendance at an Intro to Gold/Silver Award sessions. Topics focus on time management, discovering your passion, and what qualifies as a good project. Attend this workshop to learn more about the requirements and meet girls who are motivated just like YOU. Fill out an Event Registration form to participate.

Pink Panther Double Dutch Clinic
Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes
SA: December 13, 2008
Come join us for a day of fun with the World Championship Finalist, Pink Panthers Double Dutch Team. You will see firsthand some amazing jump roping skills by girls your age and then be taught how to execute some of the techniques they use. Experience how double dutch can be a great way to get exercise, stay fit, and spend time with friends! Jump ropes will be provided for each participant.

Volleyball Game & Clinic
DePaul University

Girl Scout Brownie - Cadette
Watch the DePaul Women’s Volleyball team take on Pittsburgh, then stay after the game and participate in a skills clinic given by the players and coaches. Fee covers entrance into the game and clinic participation. Clinic participants will receive the DePaul University Patch. Bring the patch to any game on the schedule following the clinic and receive free admission and a T-shirt.

Volleyball Dig for the Cure with Loyola University
October 18
Girl Scout Brownie - Cadette
Loyola Women's Volleyball will be competing against Cleveland State in their special "Dig for the Cure" game. This event was created to help the fight against breast cancer and benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Show your support by wearing pink to the game. Before the game all Girl Scouts and their friends can participate in a clinic with the Loyola team and following you can help cheer the Ramblers to a victory. Price includes the clinic and t-shirt. Admission to the game is free.

Want to learn more about some of the awesome opportunities that exist for teen Girl Scouts in our council? Come and meet girls just like you and hear first hand about events such as Camp CEO, Destinations, From Badge to Business, and The Power Lunch. You will also learn about some of the new programs that will be available to you this year! If you have any ideas or suggestions for events, then bring them along too. Must fill out an event registration form to reserve your spot.
